Inspired by the brilliant Jade Greenhalgh's @jadesbites over on Instagram. She made a delicious (and undoubtedly far superior) version of this, but we have slightly fussy scamps who don't like stuffing or chestnuts, so we have tweaked it a bit and Camping Scampinged up the cooking method. It is so moorish you will have to eat quick to make sure you get your fair share of our Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Dutch Oven Tear n' Share!
Keep reading for the recipe for this festive feast...
Ingredients
Round loaf
Truffle Brie
Streaky bacon
Cranberry sauce
Olive oil
Mixed herbs
Method
Grill the bacon until crispy, then cut each strip into smaller chunks
Meanwhile, cut the bread into thick slices, taking care to not cut all the way through. Rotate the loaf and cut slices at an angle over the original slices, again leaving the base of the loaf intact.
Spread open the cubes of bread and insert pieces of bacon into each cut.
Slice the Brie and also put a slice into each cut.
Next, spoon the cranberry sauce into the cuts.
Spread open the cuts and drizzle in olive oil and sprinkle with mixed herbs.
Place into a lined Dutch oven and cook on your campfire for about 10 mins, taking care for the bottom of the bread to not catch.
Tear open and wolf down!
Honestly, beyond the bread cutting being a little fiddley, our Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Dutch Oven Tear n' Share is easy, tasty and a complete crowd pleaser!!
