If you are anything like us at Camping Scamping HQ, you are beginning to think about summer holiday plans. Obviously we are all about the camping and glamping, so we thought that we would pull together some of the sites that are on our hitlist for this summer and beyond into one Quirky Glamping Hitlist, starting close to home in Kent!
We have no skin in the game here, no affiliates, no payments, just places that we would love to visit. We'll obviously do full reviews of any we do get to - watch this space!
1. Luna Domes, Edenbridge
A choice of 6 domes nestled into the grounds of Hoath House. All come with two huge king size beds, one of which is a unique mezzanine bed overlooking the other bed below - fabulous for the scamps! Gorgeously furnished and each with their own deck comprising seating and BBQ areas, overlooking stunning views. Most have private hot tubs too!
Website: Luna Domes, Edenbridge
Cost: From £510 (four people, weekend 2 nights). Cheaper, midweek stays also available
2. Star Field Glamping and Camping, Cranbrook
Tucked behind Charity Farm lies a delightful mix of luxury dressed and naked bell tents, safari tents and grass pitches. Or if you are having a huge get together, you can even book out the entire site! We love the luxury bell tents if you want to be hassle free, but what a fabulous idea to be able to book the naked bell tents if you have all the stuff, but can't be bothered with putting up the tent! Bell tents sleep 4 and the safari tents sleep 5. We are definitely going to be booking in here for a weekend this summer!
Cost: Safari Tents £150 per night, Dressed Bell Tents £125 per night, Naked Bell Tents £75 per night, Grass Pitch £25 per night
3. Badgells Wood, Meopham
Full disclosure, Camping Scamping have stayed at Badgells Wood several times and we love it here! See our previous review here. However, we have only ever stayed in our own tent in the glorious woodland clearings before. Next time, we want to explore the family bell tents. Various hiring packages mean that you can be as basic or as fully equipped as your own camping gear requires, but either way the locations of the bell tents are just gorgeous. If you have never been to this campsite, you really must. It is a hidden gem and you will not be disappointed!
Website: Badgells Wood, Meopham
Cost: £135 per night (minimum 2 night stay)
4. The Enchanted Faraway Tree, near Canterbury, Kent
What more could you ask for for a romantic getaway? Secluded and hidden near Kent's ancient Blean Woodlands, this place oozes tranquillity and romantic, cosy snuggles under the glass dome roof. How gorgeous does this place look, with its log burner, cosy seating, wood fired hot tub and beautiful sky views? This one is purely for couples and is scamp and pet free. Sometimes we just need a little time to ourselves right?
Website: The Enchanted Faraway Tree
Cost: From £450 for 2 nights
5. Tiger Lodge, Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve, Hythe
This is next level glamping and doesn't come cheap, but what a once in a lifetime experience. Huge panoramic windows from your safari lodge overlooking the tiger habitat. These majestic cats are able to come right up to the windows and offer you unparalleled views in this immersive experience for up to 4 people. You would also have a private garden, luxurious bathroom (again overlooking the tiger enclosure) and a beautiful, cosy living area. The cost of your stay includes exclusive access to the Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, use of a golf buggy and a safari. How amazing would it be to be so up close and personal?! If tigers aren't your thing, there are so many other accommodation types and places here - there really is something for everyone. Check out the Short Breaks section on Port Lympne's website for full details and all options.
Cost: From £1,350
